A Prayer For Compassion (Guan Yin), oil 28x22"

"Painting is both a composed intention and a revelation, and always a reflection of spirit.  I select subjects that I feel connected to, and the painting becomes my teacher, my mirror.  A Prayer for Compassion is artwork that also pays homage to the feminine deity, Guan Yin.  Known by dozens of names, and many more histories, Guan Yin is the goddess of mercy, empathy and compassion. Her truths are our truths.  She is deeply woven into the fabric of us.  Her presence is the warmth of our hearts.  Our longing for compassion motivates us, so in return, we illuminate her figure, just as a gentle ray of hope shines a little light upon us all.
